EggertJoan V. Eggert, R.D, M.P.H., M.D., FACOG

Dr. Joan Eggert is originally from the San Francisco Bay area and completed her undergraduate education in Nutrition at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo. She completed a Masters degree in Public Health at UCLA and taught nutrition and medical dietetics for seven years before returning to medical school. She received research grants and published articles relating to her research on zinc deficiency in kidney failure patients. She completed medical school at the University of Utah and residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Nebraska.

Dr. Eggert has been in private practice in Ogden, Utah since 1988. She is Board Certified – American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Board Certified in Hyperbaric and Dive Medicine. Her practice includes general gynecology, minor gynecology surgery, urogynecology, and menopausal problems and management. In addition, Dr. Eggert offers a unique personalized preventive health care assessment and plan with your yearly gynecology exam, which covers your risks for cardiovascular disease, screening for cancer and prevention of osteoporosis.

Dr. Eggert is married to Dr. Larry Eggert, who is the medical director for Intermountain Heath Care Newborn Services and the Medical Director for the new Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Dixie Regional Medical Center. They both enjoy scuba diving. Dr. Joan Eggert also enjoys lapidary and silversmithing and is the past president of the Golden Spike Gem and Mineral Society. She is the Past President of St. George Business and Professional Women and 2008 BPW Woman of the Year Award.
